DENNIS K. DOCHTERMAN

Dennis died of natural causes on Aug. 28, 2020. Dennis was born on Dec. 1, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A skilled visual artist all of his life, Dennis was voted most talented of his high school class, and most promising first year student at The Kansas City Art Institute, where he studied on a full scholarship, majoring in painting and drawing. He earned a Bachelor's of
Fine Arts degree in 1971. His fine arts interests included non-objective painting, contemporary design and architecture. Dennis excelled at drawing the human figure. He also maintained a passion for reading history, biography, philosophy, nature and arts. Dennis was a union clerical worker at The University of Iowa, in Iowa City for 25 years. He never married and was a lifelong atheist. His body has been donated to medical science. Donations in his name may be made to The National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St., New York, NY 10014-4398.
