Chitty, Rose Emma Bartosh
Rose Emma Bartosh Chitty, 85, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Cherry Ridge Assisted Living in Mount Vernon of a brief illness. To honor her wishes she was cremated and requested that no public services be conducted. Private committal will be held Oneida Cemetery, Clutier.
Rose was born April 28, 1924, on a farm east of Vining to Vencil and Emma (Sokol) Bartosh. After her father's death, her mother moved Rose and her sisters to Toledo so they could have a high school education. Rose graduated with the class of 1942.
Rose was married to Kenneth Chitty of Clutier on March 28, 1942. He preceded her in death May 30, 1989. Rose was a cashier most of her life, the latest being at Gary's Foods where she worked for 32 years until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed her home, yard, neighbors and friends. Her main interest was her daughter, Terri Ann. Throughout the years, she and Kenneth enjoyed dancing to all of the bands and playing cards in the neighborhood.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Ann, who died on November of 2008; her 11-year-old nephew, Lyn Dostal; her sister, Alice Zeman; her brothers-in-law, Joe Zeman and Fred Dostal; and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by two sisters, Grace Schnepf of Toledo and Lillian Dostal of Clutier; and very special friends, Annamae Baker and Ed Koehn of Mount Vernon, and Lester Konicek of Denver, Colo.
Special thanks to Tami and Derek Sanders of Hallmar in Mount Vernon.
Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone is in charge of arrangements.
