Catching up -- Insight Bowl gab (+ Missouri season stats)

This isn't the Inisight Bowl from 2009, the one that was held in secret on the NFL Network.

In 2009, the bowl payout was just $1.35 million to each conference. The Insight was behind the Alamo and Champs Sports in the Big Ten pecking order, but ahead of the Motor City Bowl. Basically, it was the Big Ten's last legit bowl destination. The Kinnick loss to Western Michigan kept the Hawkeyes out of it in 2007. That team finished 6-6.

This year, the payout is $3.25 million. The Insight picked after the Gator Bowl this season only because it lost a coin flip. Next year, the Insight gets the Big Ten's No. 4.

Also this season, it's a 9 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.

This Big Ten is just 2-4 in the Insight, including Iowa State's victory over Minnesota last season.
