KATHY KILTS
Cedar Rapids
Kathy was called by god at 5:10 a.m. May 6, 2021. She was a loving mother to all of her children and to her furry kids. She was the love of my life for over 50 years and she will be missed greatly. Kathy was born in Mountain Grove, Mo. She then moved to Jefferson City, Mo., and lived with her grandparents (Floyd and Eva Black, both deceased). At six years old she moved to Cedar Rapids with her mother Nadine Hart and Golden Hart(deceased).
Kathy was a Navy wife, then an Army wife, in 1980 she returned to Cedar Rapids where she worked for Amana Refrigeration, then Dows Dairy, and finally UnityPoint Hospital. She was at the hospital for 27 years in the environmental services area.
Kathy had many friends at the hospital and around town. Kathy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald Kilts Sr.; and three children, Carrie Fortney (Jessie) of Hiawatha, Donald Kilts Jr. of Marion and Melissa Kilts-Erdahl (Nathan) of LaPorte City. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Christofer Kilts, Troy McKernan, Josuwa Kilts, Kayla Kilts, Magdaline Erdahl and Cadeus Erdahl. Her furry kids will miss her greatly, Finnegan and Buddy. Both are rescue dogs.
Please leave a message or tribute to the Kilts family on our web page www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries.
