Chambers, Catherine S. 'Kay'

Catherine S. “Kay” Chambers, 85, died Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Iowa City Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to Iowa City Hospice or Trinity Episcopal Church. Catherine S. “Kay” Chambers was born March 10, 1925, in Iowa City, the daughter of Paul and Bessie (Gwynne) Chambers. After graduating from Iowa City High School in 1943, she went on to graduate from the University of Iowa in 1947 and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1950. Catherine was a graphic technician at the University of Iowa College of Engineering. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Thelma.
