Biggest portion of storm expected to miss Eastern Iowa
Feb. 3, 2012 12:26 pm
It appears the worst of the storm that's on its way to Iowa this weekend might spare Eastern Iowa.
Precipitation will develop later today as the storm moves into the region from the west, according to KCRG-TV9. Light rain and a light mix develop tonight, continuing through Saturday.
Some light snow accumulations are possible, but the heaviest amounts of snow will come in western Iowa, with up to a foot of snow predicted for Omaha.
The weather is expected to quiet down on Sunday, and appears to stay consistently calm through next Friday.
