Aswegan, Randy
Randy Aswegan, 55, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Van Horne, with the Rev. David Lingard officiating. Interment will be held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Newhall. Visitation will be held at the Fellowship Hall at St. Andrew's from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Randy was born Jan. 23, 1956, at Grundy Center, to Glenn and Shirley Aswegan, and graduated from Benton Community High School.
Randy was the owner/operator of RLA Trucking. His trucking business was his life and he was always buffing his rig and trailers. He also enjoyed his Harley, fixing old Cub Cadet mowers, hunting and fishing.
Randy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Stephanie Hatfield of Newhall; his father, Glenn Aswegan of Keystone; his children, Jeremy, Mandy and Mindy; his stepchildren, Rob and Dustin; 16 grandchildren; his brothers, Russell and Richard; and his sisters, Connie and Carla.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley on March 28, 2010; his brother, Robert; and his sister, Cathy.
