Hines, Carrol
Carrol Hines, 82, of rural Toddville, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at First Christian Church, Center Point, by Pastor Walter Grimes. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Carrol is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Carnicle; three sons, Roger (Barb), Terry and Randy; one daughter, Diana (Ron) Nelson; and his brother, Lavern Hines of Palo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, David.
Carrol was born north of Strawberry Point up in the surrounding hills, the son of Delbert and Bernetta (Lamphier) Hines. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic in the Korean conflict.
