Kreuter, Jane L.
Jane L. Kreuter, 93, of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., departed this life on March 5, 2011.
She leaves behind her husband, Adam A. Kreuter. She and Adam were married July 3, 1943, in Chicago.
Surviving are the two children of that marriage, Kurt (Debe) Kreuter and Christine J. (David) Kellems; grandchildren, Taylor and Adam Charles Kreuter, Heather (Kellems) McGahee, Laura (Kellems) Hollenbach and Paul Kellems and Jessie Maynard; great-grandchildren, Alea, Bryce and Cami Kreuter and Evelyn Kraft Kreuter; and former daughter-in-law, Ardis Kreuter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Daisy Leffler of Chicago.
Jane had been the private secretary to the vice president in charge of catalog sales at Montgomery Ward in Chicago and later to the CEO of the Allis Chalmers plant in Cedar Rapids.
She was a graduate of Northwestern University, where she was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Later in Cedar Rapids she took a post as a member of the Alumni Advisory board to the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Iowa City chapter at the University of Iowa. She was active in PEO and helped to organize the chapter of DF in Sturgeon Bay.
Jane was an accomplished mother, able in many skills. She physically helped in the building of their own home in Cedar Rapids. With her husband she developed sailing skills and loved the long cruises aboard the different boats over the years.
Jane was a person who loved life and all she could offer to its enjoyment. Her family agreed that she was a wonderful wife and mother.
A date for the memorial service will be announced later.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Research Fund, PEO Scholarship fund or Hope United Church of Christ Memorial Garden Fund in Sturgeon Bay.
