Burrack, Louis John
Louis John Burrack, 93, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Manor Care in Dubuque. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Friends may call starting at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Pastor Bill Nielsen will officiate at the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello, with military honors to follow.
Louis was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Danzig, N.D., the son of the Rev. William Richard Burrack and Anna Cordelia (Ricklefs) Burrack. Louis served in the United States Army during World War II. Louis worked at the Anamosa State Penitentiary. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa as well as the church choir and Bible Study group.
Surviving are his sister, Marilyn Emma Angeline (Burrack) Fjeld and her husband, Roger Willard Fjeld; and nieces and nephews, Ruth (Burrack) Carter, Fredrick Burrack, David Burrack, Clara (Burrack) Smith, Karen Fjeld and Douglas Fjeld.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna (Ricklefs) Burrack; stepmother, Charlotte (Fritschel) Burrack; brother, Richard Elmer Burrack; sister-in-law, Lois Ruth (Kehren) Burrack; and nephews, Stuart Allen Fjeld and Mark Richard Burrack.
