Iowa City area home sales lower so far in 2011

Fewer homes were sold in the Iowa City area in the first six months of 2011 than in the comparable period last year, but the average sale price was higher in than in the same period of 2010.
The Iowa City Area Association of Realtors reported that 1,065 single-family homes and condominiums were sold between Jan. 1 and June 30, down from 1,358 properties that were sold in the first six months of 2010.
