Seiferts co-founder enjoyed retail business
When James Seifert Sr. made another run at operating a women's apparel business at age 66 in 1993, he was clearly enjoying the challenge.
Five years later, a somber Seifert announced the closing of the company's 45 stores in Iowa and seven other states and the layoff of 400 employees in December 1998.
It was a rare business setback for Seifert, who died Friday at age 83.
