Unemployment tax on Iowa employers to drop in 2012

Unemployment insurance taxes in Iowa will decline significantly in 2012, according to Iowa Workforce Development.
Employers now must pay a tax of 2.8 percent on wages of up to $24,700 per employee in 2011. That rate will drop to 2.4 percent in 2012, agency spokeswoman Kerry Koonce said, as rates move from one tax table to another.
