Let people of C.R. have a say on issue

Thank you for the article about the fire truck image (“Complaint over psalm, image on fire truck,” March 11).
As the grandmother of a policeman, I am very upset about the person who complained. I think you should make his or her name known to all of us here in Cedar Rapids.
Unless the person complaining is a firefighter or the mother of a firefighter, we should not let the Civil Rights Commission override the feelings of the majority of the Cedar Rapids population.
The people in Cedar Rapids appreciate the life-threatening duties of our firefighters and police, and pray for their safety daily. If there is a firefighter who is of a different religion, and would like an image added, of course we would all support that, because we truly believe in freedom of religion. At the very least, let the people vote and have a say in this matter before the image is erased.
