Arming is not the right approach

I am a constituent of Iowa and a future junior high school teacher. I would like to voice my deep concern and worry for the future of schools in Iowa and this country.
As a future teacher, I am frightened and concerned about a country that would require (or even allow) teachers to carry dangerous weapons around young adults and children. Please make a decision to make schools safer places, not prisons surrounded by armed teachers. Stop listening to the National Rifle Association and listen to the many teachers, community members and parents who simply want the best for their children and students. We need to value the lives of young people over the rights of gun owners. I urge my elected officials to consider this issue and the lives of children that are at stake.
