Santee, Robert Lowell

Robert Lowell Santee, 61, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at his home. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at AMVETS Post 6 Hall, 700 Second St. SW, Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by his brothers, David, James, Dennis and Jack; sister, Marilea; the love of his life, Sandi; sister-in-law, Shirley “Ma”; best friend and “brother,” John Martin; many nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Bob was born Feb. 2, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald and Lucille (Steggall) Santee. Bob worked in construction for many years, but his true passion was in training and caring for horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don; sisters, Diane and Linda; and his grandmother, Pearl.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
