Letter: Roundabout creates traffic congestion

After driving through the new roundabout on 29th Avenue in Marion at least 24 times week since its completion, I feel a need to share some observations.
I have seen frequent incidences of people getting into the roundabout only to stop when they see a vehicle ready to enter it. While this does not occur all the time, it does happen too often. I do not know the frequency of accidents, if any, but I have witnessed many near accidents. I even saw a driver just drive through the center of the roundabout as if making a normal left turn.
I am not taking sides on the necessity of the roundabout, but I do feel that it should have been made larger like the other two in north Marion. As it is, if there is much congestion, it appears all vehicles stop because the entry and exit points are so close.
