Cynthia Lou “Cindi” Youngblut, 62, of Osage, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Hospice of North Iowa Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a Scripture wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Cindi was born Oct. 19, 1949, to John and Jessie (McQuerry) Nagle, in Cedar Rapids. She married Thomas Youngblut on Aug. 3, 1974, in Cedar Falls. They moved in 1974 to Osage, where Cindi taught school and was director of the Osage Public Library for 33 years before retiring in 2010.
She is survived by husband, Thomas of Osage; son, Bradley (Emily) Youngblut, and children, William and Sophia, of Ankeny; son, Michael (Erin) Youngblut, and son, Christian, of Dubuque; brother, John Nagle of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Pauline Youngblut; brothers-in-law, Bill (Lisa) Youngblut and Tim Youngblut, both of Waterloo; sisters-in-law, Jan Youngblut of Waterloo and Julie (Doug) Youngblut-Smith of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carmela; father-in-law, Ray Youngblut; and sister-in-law, Nancy Youngblut.
