Andreas, Michael J.

NORTH LIBERTY - Michael J. Andreas, 56, of North Liberty, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville. Family graveside services will be later at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty.

Mike was born Aug. 15, 1954, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Paul and Betty Sharp Andreas. He was raised in Ohio and Texas. On Sept. 20, 1985, he married Lynn Manternach in Iowa City.

Mike was employed for many years as a helicopter mechanic at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics AirCare. He was a talented mechanic, working on motorcycles, especially his Harley Davidson. Mike enjoyed the music of Bob Dylan and the Beatles.

His daughter was the love of his life.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Elisha of North Liberty; his parents, Paul and Betty Andreas of New Braunfels, Texas; three sisters, Connie Spearman of New Braunfels, Texas, Carrie (Michael) Reynolds of Franklin, Tenn., and Christine (Ronnie) Delavan of New Braunfels, Texas; nieces and nephews; former spouse, Lynn; and his grandog, Samson.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Henry; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, an educational memorial fund has been established for his daughter, Elisha.
