Iowa business leaders are more optimistic about business conditions over the next six months than they were three months ago, according to the Iowa Business Council's quarterly economic outlook survey.
"Despite lingering government debt issues both in the U.S. and overseas, Iowa's business leaders have regained a cautious optimism for economic growth during the first half of the coming year," Iowa Business Council President Tom Aller said in statement from the group.
The survey gauged optimum in the areas of sales, capital spending and employment. It was completed by 19 corporate members of the Iowa Business Council, which represents the state's largest employers.
Optimism was strongest on sales, but showed the greatest improvement in the area of capital improvements.
