Today we celebrate Thank A Youth Worker Day. This day was created to recognize individuals who make it their life's work to assist children and adolescents in learning, growing and finding their voice.
At Tanager Place, the impact these workers have on the lives of the children and families they work with is extraordinary. The most significant change comes about through personal relationships and meaningful moments in our everyday lives. Youth workers are in the unique position to initiate this meaningful change as they work with children to learn and develop life skills, prepare for changes and transitions in their lives and strive to return home to their families successfully. These workers are at the center of our mission to provide quality care and a life-changing experience for children and families. The position is often challenging, as workers manage difficult behaviors, long hours, and are personally affected by the traumatic experiences of the children they work with. But through these challenges youth workers maintain a calm, supportive and positive approach as they tirelessly work to make a difference.
To all of our youth workers, thank you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being willing to learn and challenge yourself. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the children you work with. Your patience, dedication and passion are inspiring and we could not do this amazing work without you.
