McManus, Edward W.
Edward W. McManus, 62, died April 24, 2013, in Berkeley, Calif., after a lengthy illness. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, at National Cemetery, Keokuk.
Born July 21, 1950, in Keokuk, Iowa, second son of Judge Edward J. and Sally (Hassett) McManus (deceased), the family moved in 1962 to Cedar Rapids, where he attended both parochial and public schools, graduating from Washington High School. After two years at the University of Chicago, he graduated from the University of Iowa in accounting.
He worked as an auditor for the Iowa Banking Department, then with the Federal Office of Thrift Supervision in California and as a Realtor in the Bay area. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his children, Katherine and Patrick of Berkeley; his father, and brothers, David P. (Mary), both of Cedar Rapids, John N. (Christine) of Belmont, Mass., Thomas J. (Jean) of Maplewood, N.J., and Dr. Dennis Q. (Luann) of Springfield, Ill.
