Coe grad Jackson gets Buffalo Bills honor

Jan. 11, 2010 4:39 pm
A well-deserved one, I might add.
Running back Fred Jackson has been named the Buffalo Bills' MVP, according to the Bills' Web site (http://bills.nfl.com).
The former Coe College standout continued his incredible story this season by rushing for over 1,000 and having kick-return yardage of over 1,000 yards. He's the first player in NFL history to record that double.
"It's definitely something I'll be able to tell my grandkids," Jackson said on the Bills' Web site. "It's something I'm excited about especially coming from where I came from to be the first guy to do it. It's a big deal and it's something I'm definitely proud of."
Jackson played indoor football in Iowa after his D-III career at Coe, before eventually hooking on with Buffalo. In two interviews with him over the past year, he's still the "same old Freddy," too: humble and a good guy.
Congrats, Fred. And keep it going.
