Connell, William G.

William G. Connell, 60, of Randolph, Wis., formerly of Cascade, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. There will be no public visitation. The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade is in charge of arrangements. The family will greet friends after 10 a.m. until time of services at St.

Martin's Church in Cascade. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Concelebrating will be the Rev. Michael Wild. Friends may also call from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday at the Randolph Community Funeral Home in Randolph, Wis., where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m.

William was born April 24, 1949, in Clinton, the son of Leo and Estella (Welsh) Connell. He is a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Dewitt and the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. On Nov. 9, 1985, he was united in marriage to Laurie Loes at St. Martin's Catholic Church in

Cascade. William owned and operated the Randolph Hardware Store in Randolph.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Connell of Randolph, and formerly of Cascade; four children, Brian Connell of Cascade, Benjamin Connell of Dubuque, Megan Connell, at home, and Joseph Connell of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Mary Sinatra of Clackamas, Ore.; and one brother, Alan Connell of Dewitt; his father- and mother-in-law, Frederick and Patricia Loes of Cascade.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Wayne Connell.

A William G. Connell memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
