Westcott, Judith A.
Judith A. Westcott, 72, of Williamsburg, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford with a luncheon following at St. Mary's Hall. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Hall in Williamsburg beginning with a rosary at 4 p.m. Burial will take place at North Scott Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Judith Westcott Memorial Fund or St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford. Online condolences can be sent to her family through the Web at .
Judith Ann Nemec was born March 4, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree as Medical Technologist and worked at all three Iowa City hospitals throughout her medical career. She married Donald Westcott on Oct. 2, 1965, in Fairfax. Together they raised their family near Oxford, where they resided until Don's death in 2003; shortly after, Judy moved to Williamsburg.
She was a member of St. Mary's in Oxford, the St. Mary's Choir, the Believers Choir, the Knotty Women sewing and quilting group, and always enjoyed the Tuesday morning prayer/rosary group. She also enjoyed visiting local casinos, playing cards with friends, reading, and especially her time spent with her grandchildren.
Her family includes her children, Scott (Angie) Westcott of Williamsburg, Mike (Kimberly) Westcott of Iowa City, Steve (Stacy) Westcott of Holmen, Wis., Mark (Jill) Westcott of Conroy, and Angela (Jarod) Carl of Ames; grandchildren, Derrick (Ami), Devin, and MacKenzie Westcott, Nicholas, Hannah, Abigail, and Matthew Westcott, Jack, Dylan and Carson Westcott, Connor Westcott, and Wesley and Elizabeth Carl; brother, Dave (Joanne) Nemec of Fairfax; and sister-in-law, Betty (Bill) Stone of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; and her parents.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City is caring for Judy's family and her services.
