Pugh, Faye Ann
Faye Ann Pugh, 96, of Strawberry Point, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the United Methodist Church, Strawberry Point, with the Rev. Ron Blix officiating. Inurnment: Mederville Cemetery, Mederville, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Strawberry Point, and one hour before services Friday at the church.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Rettinger of Strawberry Point; one grandson, Brock Rettinger; a great-granddaughter, Braxtyn Rettinger; sister-in-law, Iva Nueton of Manchester; a niece, Barbara Smoot of Manchester; and other nieces and nephews.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Pugh in 2000; her parents; a brother, Lawrence Nueton in 2007; and a brother in infancy.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1914, in Fayette County, the daughter of Claude and Edna (Hines) Nueton. She spent her growing up years in rural Manchester.
Faye was united in marriage to Noble Pugh on Jan. 19, 1934, in Manchester. They lived all their married life in Clayton County.
Faye was a member of the United Methodist Church in Strawberry Point. She enjoyed playing cards and watching the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Faye loved being around people.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the United Methodist Church or the Hospice of Comfort.
