Rouse, Karen Kay
Karen Kay Rouse, June 24, 1943-June 15, 2012, passed away at her home in Houston, Texas.
Karen was born and raised in Eastern Iowa to the late John and Aldenia Carstensen. She graduated from Wyoming High School. She married Michael Rouse and had three children: Todd (Sheila) Rouse of Olin, Timothy (Monica) Rouse of Durant and Tyler (Debra) Rouse of Mechanicsville.
Karen was a homemaker. She relocated to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1983 and then to Houston, Texas, where she resided for 25 years with her significant other, David Marotto. He passed away in November 2010.
Karen is survived by her three children; six grandchildren, Brock, Josh, Alex, Beth, Brighton and Lacey; one sister, Judy Anderson of Marion, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Lahey Funeral Home is assisting with a private burial.
Memorials may be sent to Lahey Funeral Home and will be used to support Karen's passion for animals through donations to local animal adoption agencies and “no kill” shelters.
