I support Anesa Kajtazovic for Congress. She brings youth and energy to the campaign and has an inspiring personal story, immigrating to Waterloo from Bosnia at age 11.
Through her participation in meetings of the Cedar River Watershed Coalition, she has shown her interest in and understanding of the importance of and connections among watershed management, reduction of nutrient transport, clean water and reduction in flooding along rivers.
She also is a strong advocate for a sensible energy policy, a policy that places a price on the emissions from burning fossil carbon and brings greater competitive fairness to renewable energy sources that do not emit carbon dioxide.
This energy policy also would create long-term and permanent jobs in every region.
She would make a great congressional representative for Iowa.
