Horse-riding by anyone should be applauded
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 4, 2012 1:02 pm
I have been a horse owner and trainer all of my life and know that
99 percent of the horse owners I have been involved with are not in the richest 1 percent in this country. Horse owners tend to be people who enjoy the outdoor life and choose to have a hobby that lets them exercise and enjoy animals at the same time.
Most horse owners will tell you that they would rather spend their money on their horse hobby than on drinking in a bar, cigarettes, drugs or other “hobbies” of choice. Whether Democrat or not, we all enjoyed seeing Mrs. Jack Kennedy ride horses and have ponies for her children on the White House lawn.
If Mrs. Mitt (Ann) Romney has horses and feels riding helps her deal with her multiple sclerosis, then we should all applaud her for not giving in to her disease.
