Johnson better fits progressive policies

David Johnson is the best choice for State House, 73rd District.
Johnson fought for all of us as a Gulf war veteran and now works at the University of Iowa, helping other veterans go through school. Johnson's experience on the West Branch City Council taught him to prioritize needs and fight for those that are basic to working class families. He believes Iowa should spend more on quality jobs for well-educated students and implement fairer taxes by eliminating corporate welfare.
He is not accepting corporate PAC money to fund his campaign. Johnson is a better fit with the progressive policies we count on from our area legislators.
In contrast, his opponent - a retired corporate executive - would reinforce the corporate cronyism that already threatens democracy. Iowa does not need any more of that. He seems more eager to fight for himself to keep his barn open - despite 13 building and fire code violations - than to stand for public safety. That is a dangerous attitude for someone who wants to go to Des Moines and write laws for the rest of us.
Johnson will fight for a strong working class. First, we need to vote for him in the June 5 primary.
