MARION -- SCORE East Central Iowa will offer a recordkeeping workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the Marion Public Library, 1095 Sixth Ave., as part of its Library Series.
The free session will cover what to keep, how long to keep it and how it can save you on taxes and keep you out of trouble, while improving profitability. A top-level overview followed by class involvement in exercises and examples is the cornerstone of this series.
The workshop will be taught by Jean Kruse, a SCORE mentor, past chairwoman of SCORE East Central Iowa and a certified public accountant.
After working for another CPA firm for several years, Kruse operated her own CPA firm for 13 years. In 1988, she joined RSM McGladrey LLP, a national firm, where she provided accounting and tax services to small businesses.
Kruse, a University of Iowa graduate, has been helping small businesses succeed for over 30 years and has won numerous awards. She also is one of the founders of the Professional Woman's Network in Cedar Rapids and a professional woman's advocate.
