Absentee ballots for runoff election available

Absentee ballots are available for the Dec. 1 Cedar Rapids City Council runoff election at the Linn County Auditor's Office, 2500 Edgewood Rd. SW.
Two races will be decided in the runoff. At large member Pat Shey and District 3 member Jerry McGrane will face off for the District 3 council seat. Candidates Don Karr Jr. and Aaron Saylor will square off for a second at-large council seat.
Voters may vote absentee in person at the Elections Office Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Request forms for absentee ballots may be downloaded from the Linn County Auditor's website at www.linncounty.org/auditor Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Nov. 30, the day before the election.
