Sentencing set in Iowa City sexual abuse

A sentencing date has been set for a man found guilty of sexually abusing a former University of Iowa student more than two years ago.

Jonathan R. Scheifer, 34, will be sentenced July 9 before Johnson County District Court Judge Ian Thornhill, according to court documents.

Thornhill found Schiefer guilty of breaking into a woman's apartment in the 400 block of North Dubuque Street April 6, 2008 and abusing her.

Schiefer was convicted March 10 of third-degree sexual abuse and first-degree burglary in the case.
