A Fairfax woman escaped injury this morning after the car she was driving spun around and struck a pickup just west of The Eastern Iowa Airport.
"I'm just glad she's all right," said Phil Wildeboer, 38, of West Chester, who was driving the pickup.
According to reports from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Sara Encke, 18, of Fairfax, was eastbound on Wright Brothers Boulevard, just east of Tissel Hollow Road, around 8:35 a.m. today when her car caught the shoulder and spun around, colliding with Wildeboer's westbound pickup.
"She was trying to move over for a snowplow and caught the edge of the road," Linn County Deputy Rob Taylor said. "It looked pretty nasty, but thankfully nobody was hurt."
