An Iowa City woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the leg and hand after they argued about cell phones, a video gaming system and the woman's desire to go out with friends.
Nina S. Munson, 21, of 2557 Whispering Prairie Ave., faces a charge of domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict a serious injury upon another or using or displaying a dangerous weapon. She was being held at the Johnson County Jail Friday morning.
Officers were called to an apartment in the 2400 block of Highway 6 East at 4:14 p.m. Thursday. The victim said he and Munson were arguing over her wanting to go out with friends, and then began arguing about some cell phones and a PlayStation, according to a criminal complaint.
The victim told officers Munson grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him twice in the leg and once in the hand as she yelled at him. As the victim tried to leave the apartment, Munson slammed the door on his hand, according to the complaint.
The victim had two small punctures on his leg and one on his hand, which also was swollen, according to police reports.
Munson's charge is an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison and a $6,250 fine.
