Some Cedar Rapids elementary school principals getting new assignments

As a result of the upcoming closing of Polk Elementary School and Monroe Early Childhood Center at the end of the current school year and other enrollment factors, four Cedar Rapids elementary school principals will have new assignments for the 2012-2013 school year.

The Cedar Rapids Community School District has announced some new elementary principal assignments for the 2012-13 school year. This movement is the result of some principals sharing buildings for the 2011-2012 school year, the closure of elementary school sites, and a change in assignment.

Joy Long will continue as the principal at Garfield Elementary; she currently shares Wright and Garfield.

Val Dolezal will continue as the principal at Grant Elementary; she currently shares Grant Early Childhood Center and Wilson Elementary.

Lisa TeBockhorst will be the principal at Hoover Elementary; she currently shares Polk Elementary and Monroe Early Childhood Center.

Brian Krob will be the principal at Wright Elementary; he has served as principal at Hoover Elementary for the past 10 years.
