Koutny, Leo S.
Leo S. Koutny, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010. Private services will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include four daughters, Sandi Ternus (Gary) of Ankeny, Cindi Seiler (Lynn) of Ames and Debbie Ironside (Joe) and Candi Croy (Rick), both of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dorothy; and four brothers.
Leo was born June 26, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank G. and Mary L. (Moses) Koutny. He married Dorothy Manak on Oct. 9, 1943, in Cedar Rapids. Leo worked for over 37 years at Iowa Steel and Iron Works. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Leo was known for his delicious kolaches. He enjoyed gardening, photography and his computer. He loved socializing and spending time with family and his many friends.
