Prince, Stewart D.
Stewart D. Prince, 62, of 506 17th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, in his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jo; children, Tia (Prince) Srachta of St. Charles, Ill., and Melynda Kordus-Kennedy of Anchorage, Ala.; grandchildren; stepdaughter, Amy Fix of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Robert Prince of Lawton, Okla.; and a host of friends.
Stewart was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tom Prince.
Born April 30, 1948, in Fort Sill, Okla., Stewart was the son of Vester Earl Prince and Blanch (Bernice) Elvira Payne. He attended Kirkwood Community College to become a legal assistant. After 37 years, Stewart retired as a machinist working for Cherry Burrell, Linkbelt and International Paper. On Dec. 10, 2010, he married Bobbie Jo Fix in Cedar Rapids.
