Rump, Gregory J.
Gregory J. Rump, 47, of Newhall, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in his home. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Tuesday at John XXIII Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Dustin Vu. Visitation: 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m.
He left behind his wife, Kara; parents, James and Lorna; daughters, Jordane, Alexandra and Sophia; brothers, James of Keystone and Robert of Columbia, Mo.; sister, Mary Rump of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Born Oct. 2, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Gregory was the son of James and Lorna (Lansing) Rump. He received a master's degree in business and was a program manager for Verizon for 20 years. On Nov. 2, 2002, he was united in marriage to Kara Jacque in Keystone.
Gregory enjoyed the 14 years he spent in Colorado camping, hiking and observing wildlife before returning to Iowa to raise a family. For the last four years he enjoyed spending quality time with his father on a joint eBay venture.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Gregory's memory.
