Thompson, Mildred Loretta

Mildred Loretta Thompson, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Friends may visit at the chapel after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Due to recent construction, it is required that visitors to Cedar Memorial enter making a right turn from westbound First Avenue (heading toward downtown).

Surviving are her children, Sandy Frederickson and wife Sandra of Cedar Rapids, Rick Frederickson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Miles Frederickson of Cedar Rapids; as well as her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and many family members.

Mildred was born June 25, 1925, in Minnesota. She was a loving mother who enjoyed crafts, sewing, shopping, and her pets. Above all her greatest enjoyment was time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
