Allard, Bernadine W. 'Bernie'
Bernadine W. “Bernie” Allard, 80, of 2665 25th Ave., Marion, died in her home on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, after a brief illness. Funeral Mass: 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. The Rev. Tony Kruse will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and at the church after 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include her son, Scott (Joyce) of Grimes; a brother, Don (Joyce) Feller of Clinton; a special friend, Bob Snow and family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Bernie was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Preston, the daughter of Benjamin and Vernita Bormann Feller. She married Ronald E. Allard on May 16, 1959, in Iowa City. Ron passed away in 2006. Bernie worked in quality control at Collins for several years and later devoted her life to being a full-time homemaker.
Bernie was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and especially the time spent visiting with family and friends.
She was a loving wife and mother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
