Villers, Barbara K.
Barbara K. Villers, 65, of Belle Plaine, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, with Deacon Joe Behounek presiding. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Barbara was born Oct. 17, 1947, in Marshalltown, to William and Lorraine (Moeller) Barfels. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1965. She moved to Belle Plaine in 1965 and assisted her parents in running the Belle Plaine Laundromat, then worked several years at the Super Value grocery store in Belle Plaine in the deli and bakery departments.
She married Don Villers in 1969. They enjoyed traveling to all 48 continental states. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, seeing all of her family, and she was an Iowa Hawkeye fan. She was a constant companion and caregiver to her mother in her later years.
She is survived by her husband, Don; stepsons, John (Mary) Villers of Nashville, Tenn., and Mike (Angela) Villers of Philadelphia; stepdaughter, Kelly (Scott) Bevins of Belle Plaine; six stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Karen) Barfels of Iowa City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Paul and James.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
