Petschow, David 'Pete'
David “Pete” Petschow, 56, of Center Point, went home to be with the Lord following a long illness on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at his home with his family by his side. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial's Certified Staff Celebrant Julie Freese will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, Carol: children, Brandon Petschow of Chicago and Kaysie Petschow of Walker; two brothers, Dennis (Lynda) Petschow of Elgin, Ill., and Mike Petschow of Genoa, Ill.; three sisters, Sandra (Bill) Shumaker of Ashby, Minn., Cindy Engelke of Elgin, Ill., and Wendy (Charlie) McKnight of Batavia, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kathleen Petschow; grandparents; and nephews, Johnny and Brett Petschow.
Pete was born Feb. 7, 1957, in Elgin, Ill., the son of John and Kathleen (Illa) Petschow. Pete married Carol Koenen on April 24, 1982, in Elgin. Pete worked for Illinois Tool Works-Meyercord in Carol Stream, Ill., for over 26 years as an Iowa District Service representative.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and boating on Eagle Lake and spending time with family and friends.
Pete was a loving husband, father and friend whose great sense of humor will be missed.
