On Wednesday, August 15, Xavier High School will open their doors for the 15th academic year. Anniversary celebrations, including a community service project in conjunction with the Kurt Warner Foundation and Habitat for Humanity, have been planned throughout the year.
The Xavier High School groundbreaking took place on June 22, 1997, at which Archbishop Jerome Hanus expressed his pride in the hard work and accomplishments that were making Xavier a reality. He stated, "This new Catholic high school is the result of the united effort of many in the wider community who are committed to the future of our children." Fifteen years later, the two-story air-conditioned building, covering 146,500 square feet welcomes more than 750 students each day.
Xavier's first 15 years have yielded a long and impressive resume of accomplishments from students and faculty alike, including academic prowess, athletic success, fine arts excellence, continued physical and spiritual growth, and responsibility to our community. The driving force behind this success is faith in action. The teachings of the Roman Catholic Church are foremost in Xavier's mission of "Learning today. Leading tomorrow. Serving forever."
