The red light and speed cameras have now netted Cedar Rapids more a million dollars.
After nine months, the city says it's collected more than $2.6 million in fines. A little over $1 million of that goes to the company who operates the cameras. So doing the math, that means the city of Cedar Rapids has taken in more than $1.5 million in net revenue.
The city says that money goes into a general police fund.
