Middleton, Cecil (Scotty) W.
Cecil (Scotty) W. Middleton, 98, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at his home after a short illness.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two sons, Raymond (Ruth Ann) of Marietta, Ga. and Scott (Shannon) of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Kathleen Rogers of Cedar Rapids; a stepson, Steven (Wanda) Andrews; and a stepdaughter, Gloria (Kent) Odekirk, both of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Donald; three sisters, Mabel, Edith and Florence; 26 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two daughters, Marion Striegel and Bernice Kohl; a stepson, Gary Andrews; stepdaughter, Patricia Andrews; and three brothers, Charles, John and Wilbur.
Cecil was born on Sept. 9, 1915, in Long Lake, Minn., the son of John and Edna Stubbs Middleton. Cecil was the owner and operator of Superior Metals in Cedar Rapids for many years until selling out to Henderson's in 1972. He worked after this in Davenport, Iowa; Minnetonka, Minn.; and Bellevue, Iowa, until the 80s.
Cecil was a member of the Bellevue Masonic Lodge, El Kahir Shrine, Scottish Rite, the Consistory and past master of Kingston Masonic Lodge #666 belonging to the Shrine for over 55 years.
Masonic services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by William Bascom. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
A memorial fund has been established.
