More than a single life issue

In the political scene, much of the focus is on religious belief and it is easy to pick up a belief especially if it promotes one's self and allows one to profit more at the expense of others.
Aren't there many political and life issues, the killing of thousands of human lives in our wars, starvation, homelessness, lack of health care, illiteracy, pollution of our waters, and destruction of our earth? If there is only one life issue - life begins at the penetration of an egg by a sperm - and it's our political concern for only nine months, it seems we just need to rally and shout at women about their role.
The reality is that 60 percent of tax money goes for military expense while only 7 percent goes for health and human services, 6 percent for education, 3 percent for housing and urban development, and 1 percent for environmental protection. There also is no evidence that cutting taxes for the wealthy has created jobs in the past or will in the future. So is all the noise really about diverting our attention from our responsibilities for all life on this earth?
