Miller, Mary Ann
Mary Ann Miller, 89, lifetime resident of Iowa City, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service.
Mary Ann Gosenberg was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Iowa City, the daughter of Amil and Nora Mae (Miller) Gosenberg. She attended schools in Iowa City and was united in marriage to Leopold S. “Leo” Miller on Dec. 29, 1951, in Iowa City.
For over 25 years she was employed by Northwestern Bell here in Iowa City. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for over 50 years.
Her family includes her sister, Joan Kay (Gosenberg) Flagg and husband John T. Flagg of Spencerport, N.Y.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo on June 14, 1992; and her brother, Kenneth “Skip” Gosenberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Iowa City Hospice.
