Obamacare offers freedom to change jobs
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 18, 2014 2:34 pm
Recently, the Congressional Budget Office released a new report on Obamacare. It stated that the number of jobs in the United States will decline by 2.5 million during the next decade. After that report, Republicans used it as evidence that the costs of Obamacare are higher than expected. Thus, they declared that Obamacare is a failure.
However, the reduction in jobs is not a result of business costs. Rather, it is a result of specific policies within Obamacare, which are the guarantee in health insurance and subsidies to help people pay for insurance. This makes sure that people do not have to be tied to their job to hold onto their insurance. This allows for people to leave jobs they dislike, as they no longer need them to get access to insurance, and go to other jobs they like better.
Obamacare helps people to realize their dreams and provides for a better life. That is what the new CBO report tells us.
