Ostrom, Judy M.
Judy M. Ostrom, 62, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following an extended illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church, where visitation will begin after 9:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow the funeral mass.
Arrangements entrusted to the Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa.
Surviving are her husband, Gary; sons, Dave Ostrom of Des Moines, and Matt Ostrom and wife Megan of the Quad Cities, and their three children Emma, Sarah and Anna; her mother, Mary DeMeulenaere of Brooklyn; a sister, Faye Soer and husband Rick of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her father, and an infant brother, David.
Judith Marie Ostrom was born June 21, 1947, in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Martin) DeMeulenaere. She was united in marriage to Gary S. Ostrom on Dec. 4, 1965, in Victor. She was employed for several years at Yellow Book in sales. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, spending time with family, and watching the Iowa State Cyclones, and Chicago White Sox. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial donations in Judy's honor may be made to the Lisbon-Mt. Vernon Ambulance Association.
